Through the use of Hypnotherapy and NLP, I will help you to reduce and quite possibly overcome those painful symptoms of bloating, cramping, gas, diarrhoea and constipation, associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), leaving you feeling physically more relaxed, mentally calmer, and with a much greater sense of health, vitality and physical wellbeing.
It is generally accepted that the cause of irritable bowel syndrome is unknown. However, most experts believe that it may be caused by a number of interrelated factors such as: abnormalities in the digestive tract; overly sensitive digestive organs; a malfunctioning immune system; problems with the central nervous system; an unusual response to infection; and all importantly psychological factors such as stress and anxiety.
This is not to suggest that IBS is ‘all in the mind’ because the symptoms people experience are very real, but changes in emotional states, such as stress, anxiety or depression, often cause a flare-up of the symptoms. Indeed, IBS is known to be more common in people who have experienced a previous traumatic experience.
You see how you think and feel has an important effect on your body. When we feel stressed, anxious or depressed, our bodies undergo chemical changes and it is possible that these changes in our bodies chemistry affect how our digestive system works, making the symptoms of IBS worse. So while stress and anxiety don’t necessarily cause IBS, they certainly exacerbate it.
There are three main patterns of bowel symptoms in IBS. They are:
IBS with diarrhoea – when you have repeated bouts of diarrhoea
IBS with constipation – when you have repeated bouts of constipation
IBS mixed – when you have repeated bouts of diarrhoea and constipation
I can help you reduce and even overcome your symptoms of IBS the natural way, by helping you to release underlying stress and anxiety and by returning your body to its natural and ideal state, where your immune system is working far more efficiently and effectively. The process will also leave you feeling calmer, more relaxed and significantly more confident in your ability to reduce and control your symptoms ongoing, so you can start living the life you deserve.
